Secure-A-Lid’s Wheelie Bin Latch and Wheelie Bin Lock, both automatically unlatch upon garbage collection via our patented gravity release design mechanism. When the wheelie bin is lifted and tilted by the garbage truck, the swinging arm is free to rotate and disconnect from the main latch.

This product is only applicable for side loaded garbage pick up.  Side loaded pick ups encompass 95% of all residential garbage collections.  If your garbage is collected via a rear loaded pick up DO NOT buy this product.  The below videos clarify the two methods.
